On August 21, 2026, Kenneth Lamont Smith, MD, lovingly known as Lamont since high school, passed away at age 77 after a 15-month battle with a rare form of blood cancer. A devoted husband and father, Lamont saved many lives and improved many more during the 40 years he worked as an emergency physician. Lamont’s family is deeply grateful for the heartfelt care and support provided by the University of Cincinnati Blood Cancer Healing Center. We thank you for your donation in his memory, which will help fund research and provide treatment for blood cancers.
