The University of Cincinnati Foundation is pleased to announce that Kendra Smith is its new chief financial officer (CFO). Smith has served as interim CFO since October 2024, having previously served as the Foundation's controller since 2021.

"Kendra brings to her role technical ability, a commitment to transparency and accountability, and excellent partnership. She is collaborative, customer-focused, and an excellent strategic thinker," said UC Foundation President Rich Bundy. "I'm thrilled she will be joining our Foundation leadership team."

Smith is a Miami University graduate with a degree in accounting and finance. Prior to joining the UC Foundation, she gained extensive experience with KPMG, as a managing director at Grant Thornton International, and as director of finance at Mercy McAuley High School.

"Kendra is an accomplished business executive who brings a proven track record of driving strong financial results, instilling financial and operational discipline, and demonstrating inspirational leadership," said Bill Davis, vice chair, UC Foundation Board of Trustees.

"Kendra's insights and experience will be extremely valuable as the Foundation continues to fulfill its mission to inspire a community of UC and UC Health supporters through the power of philanthropy."

As CFO, Smith will be responsible for advancing the Foundation's business strategies and partnerships with UC and UC Health to ensure long-term sustainability and efficiency.

"I believe deeply in the power of higher education and accessible health care to transform lives," she said. "I'm honored to work alongside individuals who share our mission and work every day for the benefit of UC, UC Health and our region."

Smith began her role as CFO on May 1, 2025.
