Berry-Godsey Phoenix Initiative
The Berry-Godsey Phoenix Initiative is a fund dedicated to supporting Ohio Innocence Project exonerees upon release from wrongful imprisonment. The Phoenix Initiative is used to provide clothing and basic necessities such as toiletries, phone, etc., upon their release. This fund can also be used to engage exonerees to provide lectures, participate in seminars and to otherwise support the educational and research missions of the University of Cincinnati.
About the Ohio Innocence Project
The simply stated goal of the Ohio Innocence Project at Cincinnati Law is to free every innocent person in Ohio who has been convicted of a crime they didn't commit. We’re proud to be a part of the University of Cincinnati, where we made our home in 2003. Our work also includes helping develop and advocate for lasting criminal justice reform through legislation as well as launching Ohio Innocence Project University, an active network of student groups at colleges across the state.
