Honoring Katie Wood (1984-2022)

On September 13, 2022, Katie Wood sadly passed away after battling cancer.

Of the several professional positions Katie has held through the years, the one she was most passionate about was her work with the University of Cincinnati College of Law's Ohio Innocence Project.  The mission of OIP is to free every innocent person in Ohio who has been convicted of a crime they didn’t commit.  Since its founding in 2003, 36 wrongfully convicted Ohioans, who collectively served over 700 years behind bars, have been exonerated and reintroduced back into their interrupted lives.  Katie worked directly with UC law student fellows who sweated many of the details to bring about exonerations, and with the Ohio Innocence Project University, an active network of student groups at colleges across the state.  She was most gratified by working directly with the exonerees themselves, coordinating details of their release days and arranging speaking engagements.

Your donation will support OIP in its work to see true justice served in the lives of innocent people who were wrongly convicted of crimes.
