Mrs. Prakriti Bhattacharya Research Endowment Fund in Scleroderma and Auto-Immune Disease
Humans of Scleroderma - Prakriti's Wish
Amit and Abhirup Bhattacharya created the Mrs. Prakriti Bhattacharya Fund for the Benefit of Scleroderma Research.
Scleroderma is a chronic autoimmune connective tissues disease in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissue. For many, it is a life-threatening disease that affects women, children, and men. There is still no known cause or cure.
Prakriti Bhattacharya will always be remembered as “a force of nature” by her son and husband. She suffered with scleroderma for 26 years, ultimately losing the battle. On the journey through her diagnosis and treatment, it became a personal mission of Prakriti's to increase awareness about this rare and life-threatening disorder.
The creation of this fund was done to advance her personal mission in the spirit of progress, hoping it will help support the continued effort in finding a cure for Scleroderma.
"She instilled bravery in us, and we want to instill the same into others."
